Category: foscam r4s
The NanoPi R4S, a high-end FriendlyElec mini-router, is powered through a USB Type C port and boasts edge-computing capabilities along with dual Gbps Ethernet ports. This versatile device is compatible with various operating systems, including FriendlyWRT, Ubuntu, and Armbian, among others.
At the heart of the NanoPi R4S is a powerful Rockchip RK3399 CPU, featuring a 64-bit dual-core Cortex-A72 processor and a quad-core Cortex-A53 processor. The CPU frequency can reach up to 2.0GHz for the Cortex-A72 and 1.5GHz for the Cortex-A53. Complementing the CPU is a Mali-T864 GPU, which supports OpenGL ES 1.1/2.0/3.0/3.1, OpenCL, DX11, and AFBC.
The NanoPi R4S offers impressive multimedia capabilities, with a VPU that can handle 4K VP9 and 4K 10-bit H.265/H.264 decoding at 60fps, as well as dual vOP. Power management is handled by the RK808-D PMIC, which cooperates with independent DC/DC, enabling DVFS, software power-down, and RTC wake-up features.
In terms of memory and storage, the NanoPi R4S boasts 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM and a microSD slot that can accommodate up to 128GB of external storage. Connectivity options include two Gigabit Ethernet ports (one directly from the SoC and the other converted from a PCIe), two USB 3.0 Type-A host ports, one USB 2.0 host port with a 2.54mm 4-pin header, and a USB Type-C port for power input only.
The NanoPi R4S is designed for a wide range of operating temperatures, from -20°C to 70°C, making it suitable for various applications. The device is housed in an 8-layer PCB with dimensions of 66x66mm and weighs approximately 40.9g (310g with the metal case).
The NanoPi R4S supports a variety of operating systems, including FriendlyCore 20.04 (64-bit) and FriendlyWRT 19.07.4 (64-bit). The device's open-source nature and programmability make it well-suited for developing IoT applications, NAS applications, and smart home gateways.
The NanoPi R4S also features a unique MAC address, which enhances its compatibility in complex network environments and simplifies device management, such as IP address binding, for group companies.
